Biches & Bûches

From a Scandinavian family that settled in Burgundy, France, Astrid and Caroline, a mother and daughter duo, are the heart behind the brand that is Biches & Bûches. Astrid designs garments of wool with a deep love for sweaters and cozy shawls with their natural wool coming from a family-owned fiber mill in Scotland and an environmentally responsible mill in Italy. Caroline and another team member, Louise take a lot of photographs.  Caroline also hand wrote out the ball bands for all of their woolen offerings.

When starting to think about a woolen company, Astrid was in search of a yarn she wanted to knit her designs with and offer in the shop. She was looking for something rustic, that reminded her of a trip she took to Norway in 1995 where she discovered the pure wool from Norwegian sheep, as well as her own Scandinavian roots.  She was looking for a rustic yarn that would make a sturdy sweater, to be worn through the years, blended with a soft feeling that felt good to knit with, and of course, that felt good to wear.
