About Us

My name is Michèle and I am so grateful to have this opportunity to share Little Bow Fibre Company with you. We are a cozy wool shop in the heart of Marda Loop. We can help you find everything you need for your next project, get you started on your very first or get you over a hurdle on a current WIP (that's a 'work in progress').

I learned to knit by the patient hands of my Nana Maureen, when I was just 6 years old (at the time of writing this that’s almost 43 years ago).  My Nana let me use anything she had, and she set no limits. I quickly grew to love knitting, crochet, sewing, needle point, cross stitch, petty point, macrame and anything else you put in front of me that involved needle, hook, thread, or yarn.

I grew up dreaming of being a designer, and although I did go to school for fashion design, I also earned designations in Petroleum Production Accounting and Land Asset Management.

I worked in the oil and gas industry for 25-years, and had a great career but something had changed in me. Sometime in 2020 I started thinking about how fun running a yarn shop would be. After many conversations with my parents, who for years, had patiently and repeatedly mentioned I might consider making a living using my creative talents, I decided to take that leap of faith . . . and here we are.

I've had a passion for all things made by hand my entire life, and I am so excited to open this special space to anyone with a creative streak or a curiosity.  I want to offer the same environment to you, that my Nana offered to me - a safe space where everyone is welcome.  If she were still with us today, she would be over the moon to see how the patience she granted me so long ago became the turning point of my mid-life.

Please come by and visit.  Let’s build a fibre arts community where we can be both student and teacher to each other.

If you have any suggestions please drop by and meet me or use our contact page to give us your feedback.
