West Coast Yarn is a one-woman show, run by Rachael, who is the artisan hand-dyer behind this Canadian company. All of her offerings are made with love on Vancouver Island. The rich colours that make up her collections are inspired by the island's natural beauty and we love the thought that some Pacific ocean air is locked into each and every skein we get!
With each full collection launched, WCYC also creates a limited edition colourway with a portion of the profits going to a specified charity. This initiative is called 'In Support of Reconciliation". This is Rachael's way of supporting the journey of reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. In Rachael's words "We must keep talking, listening, and moving through this uncomfortable chapter, learning Canada's dark history and making the necessary changes together."
